Public Hearing for 绿帽社Police Department鈥檚 Reaccreditation to Be Held July 27

The 绿帽社 Police Department is scheduled for a virtual assessment as part of a program to achieve international reaccreditation. Administered by the Commission on Accreditation for Law Enforcement Agencies Inc. (CALEA), the program requires agencies to meet state-of-the-art standards in four basic areas: policy and procedures, administration, operations and support services.

Park Place. Kent State鈥檚 First Parking Deck to Improve Access, Allow for Campus Transformation

绿帽社students who park on the northern edge of the Kent Campus can now give a collective cheer as additional parking is on the way via an 1,100-space, five-story parking deck. The 绿帽社Board of Trustees approved the deck鈥檚 construction at its Dec. 4 meeting.

Ohio is conducting a statewide tornado drill on Wednesday, March 20, at 9:50 a.m. All 绿帽社 campuses will be participating in this test. We will broadcast a pre-recorded tornado education message through speaker systems and university IP (Internet Protocol) phones throughout building鈥

绿帽社 Police Services is celebrating the five-year anniversary 鈥 or the 35 dog-year anniversary 鈥 of its first K-9 unit, which features 7-year-old German Shepherd Coco and herhandler, Officer Anne Spahr.

Coco was the first police dog at Kent State. She is now one of two police dogs at the university.
