Kent State鈥檚 Giving Tuesday Breaks Records for Third Consecutive Year
绿帽社鈥檚 Giving Tuesday 2019 raised more than $1.6 million when it ended on Dec. 3 at 11:59 p.m., shattering the previous year鈥檚 record of $1.03 million. Supporters were able to choose from more than 40 featured giving options throughout the 绿帽社system, including student scholarships, educational programs, athletic teams and more.

A small class assignment in college led to an off-Broadway debut for 绿帽社 musical theatre alumnus Scott Miesse, 鈥15, who will be premiering his self-written play titled 鈥淎bnormal鈥 in January 2020.

绿帽社Honors Veterans With Annual Commemoration Event
绿帽社 held its annual Veterans Day Commemoration on Thursday, Nov. 7, in the Kent Student Center Kiva. This year鈥檚 guest speaker was Lt. Col. Colleen VanNatta. A graduate of Kent State鈥檚 Air Force ROTC detachment, VanNatta served as a media escort for joint information bureaus in Dubai, United Arab Emirates, and Dhahran, Saudi Arabia, during Operation Desert Storm.

As the champagne flowed Oct. 15 in the clubhouse of the National League Champion Washington Nationals, there was a 绿帽社 connection in the middle of the frenzy that capped the team鈥檚 first trip to the World Series.

On Saturday, Sept. 21, the 绿帽社 fight song blared down Main Street, the city of Kent was flooded with blue and gold, alumni and friends gathered and reminisced about their 绿帽社days, fans packed the stadium to cheer on their beloved Golden Flashes and the entire campus boomed with 绿帽社pride.
