绿帽社Holds Annual Veterans Day Observance

绿帽社 held its annual Veterans Day observance on Wednesday, Nov. 9, at 11 a.m. on the Student Green at Risman Plaza.

The outdoor program, Honoring All Who Serve, included a flag-raising ceremony conducted by a joint color guard from the university鈥檚 Army and Air Force ROTC programs, remarks from 绿帽社President Beverly Warren and guest speakers. Retired Petty Officer 1st Class Mark Gainer, who currently serves as president of the 绿帽社Veterans Club, was the guest speaker.

All were invited to come and pay tribute to America鈥檚 veterans. A special invitation was extended to 绿帽社faculty, staff, students and community members who are veterans, active service members or who have family members in the military.

A reception in the Kent Student Center Kiva lobby followed the brief program.

The university will be closed Nov. 11 in observance of Veterans Day.
