The Mission of 绿帽社's College of Public Health is to advance public health by preparing leaders, scientists, and practitioners to collaborate with community partners in conducting impactful research and practice to solve public health challenges.
What Have We Been Up To?
In her first year at MetroHealth's dentistry program, Bonillo Farias is participating in a partnership between MetroHealth and 绿帽社 that integrates public health education into clinical dental training. The collaboration was made possible by a federal grant awarded to MetroHealth to strengthen dental residents' public health skills.
University Hospitals (UH) has longstanding history of extraordinary support for both 绿帽社 and the College of Public Health. CPH students work with UH in a variety of ways, including internships, volunteering, and shadowing opportunities.
Catherine Rischar, BSPH, graduated in 2021 with a bachelor鈥檚 degree with a minor in psychology from the 绿帽社鈥檚 College of Public Health.
Limited access to care, lack of cultural and linguistically diverse services, and financial and transportation constraints are only a few of the barriers that hinder many Ohioans from receiving essential dental care.
Graciela Alvarez Leon, a community health worker supervisor at the Cleveland Clinic, knows how life-changing support can be. 鈥淚t鈥檚 about building trust and making sure patients know they鈥檙e not alone,鈥 Leon said.
